PART VI — MEMBERSHIP VALIDITY AND RENEWAL

22. MEMBERSHIP PERIOD

Membership shall ordinarily be valid for twelve months from the date of admission or renewal.

The Institute may adopt a common annual membership year if subsequently approved by the Board.


23. RENEWAL

Members shall renew membership by:

  1. Paying the applicable renewal fee;
  2. Maintaining good professional standing;
  3. Meeting applicable CPD requirements;
  4. Complying with Institute regulations;
  5. Updating personal/professional information where required.

24. MEMBERSHIP IN GOOD STANDING

A member shall be regarded as being in good standing where:

  • Membership is current;
  • Applicable dues have been paid;
  • CPD obligations have been met or appropriately addressed;
  • The member has not been suspended;
  • The member complies with the Institute's professional standards.

Only members in good standing may use IHIMN post-nominal designations.


25. LAPSED MEMBERSHIP

Where membership expires without renewal:

  • Active membership status shall cease;
  • Member privileges may be suspended;
  • Use of the IHIMN designation shall cease;
  • Access to member benefits may be suspended.

The Institute may provide a grace period for renewal.


26. REINSTATEMENT

A former member may apply for reinstatement.

The Institute may require:

  • Payment of outstanding dues;
  • Reinstatement fee;
  • Updated documentation;
  • CPD remediation;
  • Confirmation of professional standing.

Where membership has been inactive for an extended period, the Institute may require revalidation.
